DONNA SUMMER rose to prominence during the disco era of music, earning the title "The Queen of Disco" and becoming one of the most successful recording artists of the 1970s and all-time best-selling female Artists, with her catalogue selling more than 130 million units and Billions of streams worldwide.
As we look back more than 50 years since the release of her debut international hit, we proudly celebrate and recognise DONNA SUMMER as we present this career-defining Albums box set.
This Black Vinyl LP collection features the seven Studio/Live Albums released internationally between 1975-1979 for Casablanca Records and which left an indelible mark in recorded music history.
DONNA’s iconic and groundbreaking anthem ‘Love To Love You Baby’, was first released in The Netherlands in June 1975 as ‘Love To Love You’ but subsequently released worldwide in November 1975 as ‘Love To Love You Baby’ following her signing to Casablanca Records, reaching #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart in 1976. Ironically in title, the record was kept from the #1 spot by Paul Simon's ‘50 Ways To Leave Your Lover’, although DONNA hit #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart for a month.
Borrowing the title from the single’s success, “Love To Love You Baby”, the first Album for Neil Bogart’s label reached #11 on the Billboard Albums Chart.
Over the next three years, the albums followed quickly - “A Love Trilogy”, “Four Seasons Of Love”, “I Remember Yesterday”, “Once Upon A Time...” - with Donna cementing herself as a global icon, with six further US Top 30 albums, including two #1 Albums in “Live And More” which featured the 17 minute ‘MacArthur Park Suite’ opus and “Bad Girls”. Each of those albums featured at least one hit that has stood the test of time
Fresh off the back from his acclaimed book with Alice Harris, “A Night At The Disco”, Christian John Wikane has penned a new 3,500-word essay to accompany this set, from interviews undertaken with Donna, Bruce Sudano, Pete Bellotte, Pattie Brooks, Alec R. Costandinos, Leroy Gómez, Steve Greenberg, David Hodo, Cecil Holmes, and Bernie Worrell.
DONNA’s music is still relevant today, as witnessed during Alysa Liu’s 2026 Olympic Gold Medal winning free skate routine to a medley from ‘MacArthur Park Suite’ which included ‘One Of A Kind’ and ‘Heaven Knows’, the latter being recorded with Brooklyn Dreams.
We continue to celebrate DONNA SUMMER and her musical legacy, as she continues to fill the radio and TV airwaves around the world.
