Marc Shaiman, Scott Wittman & Motion Picture Cast of Hairspray (Soundtrack To The Motion Picture) (Blue and Pink Splatter 2LP)

Sixteen years after the original film, New Line Cinema brought the feature film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Hairspray to life. Featuring new and original material based on John Waters' 1988 cult classic about star-struck teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show, the comedy features John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Allison Janney, Brittany Snow, Zac Efron and Elijah Kelley, with director and choreographer Adam Shankman and producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

The soundtrack includes three original numbers created for the film: "Ladies' Choice", "New Girl In Town" and "Come So Far". Also featured are "Good Morning Baltimore", "Welcome to the '60s", "Nicest Kids In Town" and "You Can't Stop The Beat", plus "Mama, I'm a Big Girl Now" performed by Ricki Lake, Marissa Jaret Winokur and Nikki Blonsky.

Now certified Platinum by the RIAA, this album is finally available once more on vinyl in a vibrant blue and pink splatter.
