Björk - Björk Orkestral – with the Hamrahlíð Choir (Black 1LP)

We're thrilled to announce the physical release of björk orkestral – with the hamrahlíð choir – part of the concert series that took place at Harpa concert hall in Reykjavik in 2021. The 24 October show featured the 50-person Hamrahlíð Choir conducted by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir and musician Bergur Þórisson on organ, and featured songs primarily from Björk's album Medúlla.

These concerts were organised to raise money and awareness for Kvennaathvarfid – a charity that supports women and immigrants of different origin within Iceland.

The Hamrahlíð Choir: at the forefront of Icelandic musical life for more than four decades, the choir is made up of graduates of Hamrahlíð College in Reykjavík, formed by Þorgerður Ingólfsdóttir in 1967. It has travelled to 26 countries and performed at leading choral festivals across Europe, North America and Asia. Its collaboration with Björk began in 2017 on Utopia and continued with the 2019 Cornucopia concerts.
